welcome to the shop

here's how it works. I handle all orders in person, so if you would like to place an order, peruse down below but then reach out directly to me, either by direct message to my instagram account @emmet_van_driesche or by email to emmetvan@gmail.com

I am currently booking spoons and blanks about 4 months out. please be in touch to place an order.

All my products listed below are retail price, and do not include shipping. Shipping for an item or two can range from $7 within the US to $25 to some places in the world. Rather than try to guess, i simply wait until the item has shipped, then let you know the total. Payment is by Check if within the US, and if overseas I will send you an electronic invoice.
Spoon Blanks and Tools
I collaborate with two fantastic craftspeople, Adam Reynolds (@makeitadam on Instagram) and Cynthia Main (@sunhousecraft) to bring you two tools that I use in my own process: the porcelain burnisher and the broomcorn polisher, each $15 plus shipping. There is a wait list of at least several months for both tools. Check out my IGTV channel on Instagram for a video on how I use them.

I also offer spoon blanks, either finished as you see here, or raw blanks, which have the crank angle established but still have a bunch of axing for you to do. Blanks are $6 each plus shipping, and by far the most efficient way to ship them is in a medium flat rate box, which fits a standard of 15 blanks. I am happy to do specific shapes if you want, I can do outlines on raw blanks or not, I can even number them in the order I think it would be educational to carve them if you like. Most people just order a box of 15, mix of shapes. They are always some mix of cherry, birch, and whatever else I have that is good. They are top quality greenwood, and come wrapped in plastic to preserve their moisture. Toss any in the freezer you don't think you will carve in the first week or so, and stick those others in the fridge, still in plastic. A new offering I just started is the box of billets, which is a large flat rate box of prime billets of wood, $35 for the wood with $20 shipping. Please note, due to the complexity of international laws governing the movement of green wood, I only ship blanks and billets within the US.

Finally, I make batches of birchbark sheaths, brightly painted with acrylic paint so you don't lose them among the woodchips. Sheaths are $10 plus shipping, let me know if you have any color preferences and what lengths you need.
